Through dozens of primary interviews, letters, photographs, and court transcripts, Bob Kealing, an Emmy Award-winning broadcast journalist, author, and historian, recounts the Beatles’ transformative visit through the potboiler that was 1964 Florida. This lecture offers a local perspective of the VBMA’s current exhibition Rock ‘N’ Roll Billboards of the Sunset Strip illustrating how global music phenomena like the Beatles influenced Florida’s cultural scene during a dynamic era.
