
Art at the Emerson Gallery is pleased to present The Indian River Lagoon By Brush and Lens, an Earth Day-inspired exhibition celebrating the natural beauty and ecological significance of the Indian River Lagoon through art and photography. The exhibition runs from April 4 to June 4, 2025, with gallery hours from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday (closed Wednesdays).
A special Meet the Artists Reception will be held on April 23, 2025, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., offering guests the opportunity to engage with the talented artists behind the exhibition and view framed images from the Indian River Lagoon calendar.

Following the reception, at 7:00 p.m., E-Series Speaker Heather Stapleton, Central IRL Community Engagement Coordinator with One Lagoon, will present The Indian River Lagoon: Challenges and Conservation. Her talk will explore the environmental significance, ongoing challenges, and preservation efforts of the lagoon.
Heather Stapleton, originally from Indiana, has made Indian River County her home. She holds degrees in Environmental Studies, Political Science, and French from Indiana University. Heather served three years as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Benin, West Africa, and spent 16 years as the Education Director at the Environmental Learning Center. Most recently, she was the Executive Director of Vero Heritage, Inc., which operates the Indian River Citrus Museum. Passionate about the environment, history, and culture, Heather remains actively involved in community initiatives.
