The Vero Beach Museum of Art kicks off its Concerts in the Park series on February 29 with the sophisticated, soulful sounds of flamenco guitar music with Don Soledad & Trio Soledad. Inspired by flamenco legend Paco de Lucia's guitar, Don Soledad developed his soulful sounds in Northern California, studying with Spanish maestros Mariano de Cordoba and Agustin Rios. Further refining his skills in Andalucia with Juan Diego Mateos, Don began performing in San Francisco and the Sonoma/Napa Valley wineries. As a versatile artist, he collaborated with talents like Eric Martin and Kai Eckhardt, and opened for jazz guitar legend Larry Coryell. Don, a composer with two albums, "Camino de Seda" (2006) and "Soluna" (2013), now leads "The Don Soledad Group" in Florida, winning accolades like 1st place in FusionFest 2020's "Best Musician" category.
Accomplished jazz pianist, singer, and composer Mike Telesmanick on March 21 will perform. A jazz virtuoso from Boston and Los Angeles, Telesmanick graduated from Berklee College of Music. His jazz trio, featuring bassist and drummer, offers a blend of classic be-bop and contemporary styles, including original compositions. Special guest Nolia Blue, a mesmerizing chanteuse, adds an evocative touch to the ensemble.
