Award-winning graphic designer, writer and editor, Sara Day, never ceases to be inspired by the beauty and unique qualities of regions throughout the United States. While creating photo journals for other communities across the county, Day decided to create a book for Vero Beach where she has resided the last twelve years. That creative decision quickly resulted in a “Coloring Keepsake” of Vero Beach, Florida.
The soft cover book is a fun collection of the many noteworthy places that make this beautiful seaside city so unique. Historic building, parks and more are featured in an easy-to-color format. Twenty-seven sites are illustrated by Day and labeled with brief historic content. This wonderful souvenir for children and grown-ups alike is 8x10, with 56 total pages. Some of the sites in the book include but are not limited to: Pocahontas Building, Theatre Plaza, Old Vero Beach Train Station, Historic Dodgertown, Patriot statue in Pocahontas Park, Painted Turtle at the Heritage Center, Vero Beach Airport, Royal Palm Pointe Park, Merrill P. Barber Bridge, Grand Pavilion at Riverside Park, Veterans Memorial Island Sanctuary, Jaycee Park Boardwalk, McKee Botanical Garden, Pelican Island National Wildlife Refuge and the Vero Beach City Marina. The book may be purchased at the Vero Beach City Hall or by calling Tammy Bursick at 772-978-4700.
The book’s back-cover blurb reads: Where the Tropics Begin…..Stunning sunrises over the Atlantic Ocean unveil the unspoiled natural beauty of this charming sea-side city. With its friendly people, quaint historic neighborhoods, pristine beaches, vibrant arts community, and more, Vero Beach is the gem of Florida’s Treasure Coast.
